Job Description

What We Offer

At CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, you will be part of an advisory platform that supports clients across Malaysia and the region on corporate finance solutions. We offer a performance-driven environment, exposure to complex transactions, and structured development through on-the-job learning, coaching, and formal training. You will work alongside experienced bankers and product partners across the CIMB Group, with the support and tools needed to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

About the Role

As an Associate Director within CIMB Investment Bank Berhad's Corporate Finance team, you will take on a supervisory role in leading the day-to-day execution of advisory and corporate finance mandates, from origination support through to completion. You will oversee multiple workstreams, review deliverables prepared by junior team members, and coordinate stakeholders and external advisers to ensure engagements remain on track.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day execution of corporate finance mandates (e.g., M&A, IPOs, privatizations and takeovers, equity and quasi-equity fundraising, and corporate advisory), including work plans, timelines, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Oversee due diligence workstreams and adviser coordination (including key issues tracking and resolution), escalating matters where necessary to ensure timely progress.
  • Oversee the drafting and review of transaction documents and regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all parties.
  • Ensure all outputs meet the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain overall oversight of execution across corporate finance mandates.
  • Support the preparation of pitches and proposals.
  • Supervise and coach junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking or corporate finance.
  • Strong execution ownership, with the ability to supervise multiple workstreams, manage advisers, and deliver under tight timelines with high attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a structured and disciplined approach to execution and delivery.
  • Solid understanding of Malaysia's capital markets and regulatory landscape.
  • Highly driven, analytical, and passionate about the profession.
  • Client-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging with senior management, regulators, and internal product partners.
  • Proven ability to supervise and coach junior team members while upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.
