ROLE PURPOSE
Conduct research and propose suitable policies on labour market to advance the Bank's thought leadership and policy advocacy in the national labour market priorities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To undertake in-depth research on prevailing and emerging labour market issues, initiatives and its structural implications on the macroeconomy.
- To develop suitable policy recommendations to the government, through internal research and via collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
- To provide technical support to the Government on economic matters relating to labour market through participation in inter-agency meetings, where necessary.
- To conduct strategic advocacy to the Government on labour market policies by leveraging on analysis and research undertaken by the Bank.
- To prepare drafts for the Bank's publications and reports, speeches, questions and answers for the media, interviews, parliamentary questions, presentation slides and briefs for meetings.
- To conduct administrative tasks, where necessary, to ensure business continuity and smooth running of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic Qualifications: First Degree in Economics (preferred), Econometrics, Mathematics, Accounting and Finance or related field. Masters in Economics and Econometrics is an advantage
- Experience: Preferably 2 3 years working experience in Economics and Financial Sector. Experience in labour policy work would be an advantage.
