About the Job
The Finance Associate supports the Group B40 team in overseeing finance activities to ensure all outputs are complete, accurate, timely, compliant and well controlled. The role also supports daily monitoring, reconciliation, coordination and issue management related to Group B40 Finance.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare month end closing journals for Group B40 such as claims, cashflow, expenses, assets, provision and other related entries.
- Prepare and produce monthly Interfund Settlement working for Group B40 Operator.
- Perform reconciliation of Group B40 accounts including system records, sub-ledger, GL and statements on monthly basis.
- Assist in preparing Group B40 management accounts or financial reports.
- Review and validate Group B40 payments, statement of accounts and other finance documents when required.
- Provide inputs for management and regulatory reporting to ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Group B40 finance automation initiatives, system enhancements and defects resolution.
- Assist in reviewing and updating finance Group B40 standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support responses to audit requests.
- Participate in finance-related projects and perform ad hoc tasks or requests as and when required.
- Identify potential issues or risks and proactively highlight improvement opportunities to Finance Operations lead.
We are looking for people who
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial operations, shared services or outsourced finance environments, preferably within insurance, takaful, financial services, or a regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience supporting finance operational activities, including general ledger postings, journal entries, account reconciliations, ageing reports and sub-ledger to GL reconciliations
