Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

To carry out Private Credit investment by exploring Private Credit opportunities, appointing new managers, introducing new mandates, continuously enhancing existing mandates, carry out analysis or due diligence on private debt proposals, and to prepare necessary working papers for EPF's Management Investment Committee (MIC), EPF's Investment Panel (IP) and other relevant approvals in line with EPF's investment policies, guidelines and relevant laws or regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in identifying private debt investment opportunities in line with EPF risk appetite and meeting the asset or income allocation objectives set by the Management.
  • Assist in establishing investment thesis or private debt fund (PDF) mandates and identify value creation or synergy strategies.
  • Assist in performing due diligence on the potential PDF mandates or managers and make initial recommendations to the Head of Unit or Section. If required, assist to conduct landscape study or due diligence or risk-reward analysis to analyse the viability of the investment proposal and make recommendations to the MIC and IP accordingly.
  • Assist in negotiating with consultants i.e. advisor, tax advisor, or Fund Manager on indicative terms & conditions and commercial or credit factors or considerations on investment mandate, if required, to formulate and propose funding structure.
  • Cooperate with the Investment Risk Management team in providing complete and timely information on any debt investment recommendations, to ensure timeliness in the submission of investment papers to the IP and meet target deadlines of potential businesses.
  • Liaise with Legal Department or external legal advisor in finalising private debt documents or agreements pertaining to commercial issues and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs); and to ensure all terms and conditions that are set or approved by the IP are met and provided in the legal documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pass in Bahasa Melayu, including the oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Investment, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in private credit investment, or related roles within the financial or asset management industry
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulousness, and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Skilled in writing and presentations
  • Good knowledge of financial statement, cashflow and credit risk analysis, with exposure to investment guidelines and instruments
