This position is opened for registered clinical psychologists OR registered counsellors.
Job Purpose:
As an associate clinical psychologist/counsellor (part-time), your primary role is to provide emotional support and mental health services to cancer patients and their families. You help them navigate the psychological challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, fostering resilience and well-being throughout their cancer journey.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide psychological therapies to persons affected by cancer, including children, adults, elderly patients, and caregivers through face-to-face sessions, virtual consultations, and home visits.
- Work with family members and conduct family sessions.
- Formulate individualized therapy plans and provide case management.
- Maintain proper case records and progress records in the patient database system.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary psychosocial team of healthcare professionals comprising clinical psychologists, counsellors, play therapists and other allied health professionals.
- Participate in community engagements for community outreach, programme planning, coordination, and when needed.
Requirements (for clinical psychologists):
- Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology
- Membership with MSCP or MAHP(СР)
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Ability to conduct therapy in Mandarin will be an added advantage
- Ability to commit certain working hours during weekdays will be an added advantage
Requirements (for counsellors):
- Master's Degree in Professional Counselling or equivalent
- Registration with LKM
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Ability to conduct therapy in Mandarin will be an added advantage
- Ability to commit certain working hours during weekdays will be an added advantage
