JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Quantity Surveyor manages cost control, procurement, and commercial aspects of water industry construction projects from tender to final account. The role includes preparing cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, tender documentation, evaluating and negotiating tenders, certifying progress claims and variations, and monitoring project budgets and forecasts. The position requires close coordination with consultants, contractors, and suppliers, site verification of works, and compliance with contract conditions, procurement procedures, and SPAN Uniform Technical Guidelines (UTG).
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepared cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and tender documents for construction projects.
- Evaluate contractor quotation and assist in tender clarification and negotiation processes.
- Monitor and Control project costs, including budgeting, forecasting and cost reporting throughout the project
- Lead tender process from review of tender documents, drawings, BQ and Tender evaluation for recommendation of Award.
- Assess and certify progress claim, variation Oder and final claim by contractor.
- Conduct site visit to verify works progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Prepared financial reports, cost analyses and progress updates for management review.
- Liaise with consultant, contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project coordination and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with contract condition, procurement policies and relevant water industry standards.
- Review contractors/suppliers quotation and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- To undertake ad hoc duties if required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- 6 Years experience in Quantity Surveying
Knowledge
- Familiar with UTG (Uniform Technical Guideline) from SPAN
- Experience in Procurement Oder Process
- Experience in water supply/water industry
