What You'll Do:

• Database Management and Maintenance

a) Maintain and configure database systems (i.e. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, NoSQL Database)

b) Manage data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes

c) Apply security patches, updates and version upgrades as needed

• Performance Tuning and Optimisation

a) Monitor database performance, optimize queries, indexes and storage

b) Analyse slow queries and improve database performance

c) Optimise indexing and partitioning

• Database Design and Implementation

a) Implement database best practice and security policy

b) Collaborate with software developers and system architects to ensure database designs are efficient, scalable and optimised

• Security and Compliance

a) Implement security control and enforce database security policies (i.e. Access control, encryption, audit logging, secure connection)

b) Conduct periodic backup and restoration test

c) Ensure compliance with industry standards (i.e. BNM, PCIDSS, SOC 2, PDPA)

d) Support security audits and vulnerability assessments

• Troubleshooting and Incident Management

a) Investigate and resolve database issues quickly

b) Perform root cause analysis for database failures

c) Provide technical support and assistance for database related queries

• Capacity Planning and Scaling

a) Forecast database storage and performance needs

b) Forecast event-based database usage, needs and cost

c) Optimise database costs in cloud environments

• Automation and Scripting

a) Automate routine DBA tasks (i.e. monitoring, failover, backup, restoration, maintenance)

b) Automate approval and account creation

• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

a) Work with different team to integrate best database solutions

b) Participate in SDLC discussions

c) Support business intelligence and reporting needs

d) Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, policies and procedures

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
• Professional cloud certification on DBA
• Proven 1 to 2 years of experience in a DBA role
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL database management systems and the associated tools
• Basic understanding of SQL and cloud database concept (backup, replication, disaster recovery, security)
• Experience with software development lifecycle management
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems is a plus
• Able to use automation tool to automate routine tasks
