Role Description The Associate Credit Data Scientist is a full-time, on-site role based in Shah Alam. This role involves collecting, cleaning, and analyzing credit-related data to support car financing decisions and improve risk models. The associate will build and validate statistical and machine learning models, create dashboards and reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders in credit, operations, and management. Daily tasks include exploratory data analysis, monitoring model performance, supporting data-driven policy changes, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to implement analytics solutions. The role also includes documenting methodologies, ensuring data quality, and contributing to continuous improvement of credit scoring and underwriting processes.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Data Science and Data Analytics for building and evaluating credit risk models.
  • Applied knowledge of Statistics and Data Analysis for hypothesis testing, model validation, and performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization to create clear dashboards and reports for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, including use of common data and ML libraries.
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases for querying and transforming large datasets.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, present insights clearly, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and interest in credit risk, fintech, or financial services.
  • Experience with credit scoring, risk modeling, or financial analytics is an advantage but not mandatory.
