We're looking for you! Who are fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English to join a short-term remote project helping train AI language systems.
Your task in this project is to listen to audio recordings and transcribe what you hear accurately. These recordings reflect how Malaysians actually speak, with different accents, ages, and speaking styles, and your work helps make AI understand local voices better.
If you're comfortable working with audio, detail-oriented, and can commit a few hours a day, this project is for you.
Requirements
What will I be doing
- Listen to audio clips and transcribe them clearly in the language of the audio
- Split audio into proper sections (based on how people speak)
- Label speakers when there is more than one voice
- Add simple tags where required (e.g. gender, age range, emotion)
- Follow guidelines carefully to maintain quality
- Work together and communicate with the Project Manager
- Complete tasks within the given timeline
What do I need
- Comfortable reading and writing in Bahasa Melayu and English
- Good listening skills (able to catch and understand various accents, dialects - Bahasa Melayu, English, Singlish)
- Careful and patient, can reach 95% accuracy
- Willing to ask questions if unsure
- Laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection to work on the platform
- Able to manage your own time and meet deadlines
- Complete this pre-assessment to get shortlisted to the training
- Tips for the assessment: Please be detail by replaying the audio and recheck your transcription and your spelling so you won't miss any words from the audio
Bonus point (not mandatory):
- Previous experience with transcription, data labelling, or AI projects
Project Details
- Duration: 2 months
- Time commitment: Around 4-6 hours per day
- Onboarding Training: Join mandatory training (TBD - between office hour 9am-6pm)
- Working hours: Flexible (tasks can be done anytime between 9am - 6pm)
- Pay rate: USD 2.25 per accepted audio (2-3 minutes) - Approx. MYR 8.90, subject to exchange rate
- Project period: March - April 2026
- Please note: Assessment submissions will be reviewed towards the end of March or early April 2026 as we finalise the project setup. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next steps. If you do not hear from us by the end of April 2026, it means your application was not selected for this project
