About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Audit Lead, Group Finance & Corporate Services Audit to join RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will lead and execute comprehensive audit engagements across RHB Bank Berhad's operational functions, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. You will work closely with Functional Audit Heads (FAHs) and key stakeholders to plan and deliver risk-based audits, evaluate internal control frameworks, and provide actionable recommendations that strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency, and enhance risk management across the Group.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assist Functional Audit Heads (FAHs) in executing the approved Audit Plan and managing audit assignments across Group Finance and Corporate Services functions
  • Plan, execute, and manage risk-based audit assignments to ensure audit objectives and scope are achieved in accordance with the prescribed Audit Methodology
  • Review risk assessments conducted during annual audit planning and develop risk-based audit programs for planned assignments
  • Monitor audit assignments to ensure completion within approved timelines, manpower allocation, and cost budgets
  • Plan and deploy adequate resources for each audit assignment to ensure efficient audit execution
  • Evaluate audit findings and recommendations to ensure they are appropriate and ready for discussion with line management
  • Review draft audit reports to ensure significant findings, root causes, and risk impacts are clearly reported with appropriate recommendations to strengthen internal controls
  • Communicate audit findings to auditees and their supervisors, highlighting control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and non-compliance issues, while recommending appropriate corrective actions
  • Attend end-of-audit discussions with auditees to confirm findings and recommendations
  • Present audit reports and updates on outstanding matters during MAC meetings when required
  • Monitor and follow up with auditees on rectification actions and implementation of audit recommendations
  • Participate in product, policy, and process reviews to ensure appropriate internal controls are embedded in new initiatives
  • Conduct ad-hoc reviews, special assignments, and investigations as directed by FAHs, FGHs, or Group CIA
  • Perform timely review of Electronic Working Papers (EWP) and ensure proper documentation within the Audit Management System (AMS)
  • Review and update Audit Programs to ensure alignment with the latest regulatory guidelines and internal policies
  • Guide, mentor, and provide on-the-job training to audit team members while supporting performance evaluation
  • Support FAHs in preparing manpower, CAPEX, and OPEX budgets, as well as the annual Audit Plan and risk assessment across the audit universe
  • Apply data analytics to enhance audit coverage, improve audit efficiency, and strengthen audit effectiveness

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or ACCA are highly preferred
  • Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management, preferably within banking or financial services
  • Demonstrated experience in finance, procurement, sustainability/ESG, and data-driven audit areas is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations (e.g., BNM guidelines) and internal control frameworks such as COSO
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality audit outcomes within deadlines
