Job Description

Job Summary

The purpose of the position is to assist in the overall management of Automation Project initiatives.

The AE Asst. Manager manages and oversees various automation engineering projects, and Automation Project Engineer.

Position acts as liaison to sites, and customers for project requirements, specification, plan and installation. Position ensures stipulated specification and requirements are met, and delivered within budget and on time.

Position garners team contributions in the execution and implementation of project goals, and supports the Senior Manager of Automation in proliferation of projects and equipment.

Prerequisites

B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics.

Minimum 3-6 years of working experiences in assist manager level for automation equipment or Manufacturing Engineering / Equipment's environment.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Job Description

Manages automation projects to meet delivery timeline and budget.

Manages a group of project engineers.

Liaise with sites / customers on project requirement, specification, and time line.

Leads the team to review, understand and interpret requirements/specification correctly and transform all of these with design team (internal / external).

Reviews all quotes prepared on internal quote system.

Responsible for the P & L of individual project, ensure project deadline and budget is met.

Ensure all engineering times are logged into tracking systems and corresponds to projects.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Establish and clearly communicate all global and regional Automation strategies to the department.

Coach, mentor and train all engineers with the Automation department.

Report and drive improvement within the site through the monitoring of the key Automation metrics, ensure project deadline is met.

Ensure all engineering times are logged into tracking systems and corresponds to projects.

General Requirement

Knowledge skill in automation project management.

Functional knowledge of mechanical/electronics/electrical/software application engineering.

Functional knowledge of EMS industries.

Functional knowledge of automation equipment assembly and installation.

Advance PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Occasional travel may be required.
