Job Description

Our Client:

We have recently partnered with a MNC company that specialize in manufacturing of precision engineered components. The company is expanding their footprint in Malaysia and currently looking for Assistant General Manager as part of their strategic growth.

Responsibility:

  • Develop the overall automation and digitalization roadmap for the factory.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, robotics, and digital workflow improvements.
  • Drive standardization of automation architecture, coding practices, safety compliance, and documentation.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to align automation priorities with production, engineering, and quality departments.
  • Oversee the design of mechanical systems, jigs, fixtures, motion systems, and mechanized solutions.
  • Ensure correct electrical and control system design (PLC, HMI, SCADA, servo systems, robotics integration).
  • Approve vision system designs, camera/lens selection, lighting strategies, and algorithm development.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Automation, digital workflows, and waste reduction.
  • Review vendor proposals, machine builder designs, and technical specifications.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical leadership, project management capability, and strategic thinking to drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, ensure system security, and deliver sustainable automation solutions aligned with company objectives.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Control Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years experience in industrial automation or digitalization roles.
  • At least 3–5 years in a technical leadership or managerial position.
  • Experience in precision manufacturing, semiconductor, medical devices, or high-mix/high-precision environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical automation design, motion systems, pneumatics, and robotics.
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming and electrical control architecture.
