Role Overview
An Automated Tester (also called Automation Tester) is responsible for creating and maintaining automated test frameworks that validate the functionality, performance, and security of software applications. They streamline testing processes, reduce manual effort, and ensure consistent quality across releases.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automated test scripts: Build reusable test cases using tools like Selenium-Java.
Execute automated tests: Run test suites to validate software functionality across different environments.
Collaborate with developers: Work closely with engineering teams to identify test cases and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Skills on Automation framework design pattern and techniques, hands on experience on developing BDD automation framework, Cucumber, TestNG
Strong in Java (concepts and programming skills)
Good experience on web service / API test automation and UI automation
Strong DB and API testing skills
Good Automation skills using, Java & Selenium
Handson experience building and operating automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Tooling: Selenium, SoapUI, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JMeter (practical usage in UI, API, and performance testing).
Debug and troubleshoot: Investigate failures, analyze logs, and report defects using tools like Jira.
Maintain test frameworks: Update scripts and frameworks to adapt to evolving software features.
Ensure software reliability: Validate performance, scalability, and security through automated testing.
Document and report results: Provide clear test reports and metrics to stakeholders.
