About The Job

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to join us as the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Accounting. This role reports to Head of Corporate Accounting, and you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, maintaining robust governance and internal controls and acting as the liaison between senior management, auditors, regulators and our shared service provider.

  • Oversee and review financial and regulatory reporting prepared by shared service provider, ensuring compliance with IFRS/MFRS, corporate accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review financial results, journal adjustments and reconciliations prepared by share service provider.
  • Review the tax provision and annual tax return prepared by shared services and ensure compliance with tax requirements.
  • Monitor and manage performance of the shared service provider against service level agreements (SLA) and key performance indicators.
  • Act as primary liaison with share service provider to ensure service level performance, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
  • Establish, maintain and enforce corporate policies and procedures (e.g. accounting, related party transactions).
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions (e.g. M&A and new accounting standards and regulatory changes)
  • Maintain strong governance and internal control frameworks across outsourced operations, ensuring business continuity risk mitigation are in place.
  • Lead and develop the corporate accounting team with emphasis on oversight, governance and compliance.
  • Coordinate audit processes (internal and external), liaising with auditors, regulator and shared service teams.
  • Collaborate with Business Finance, Corporate Treasury and other CFO Division functions to support strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in policy reviews, systems upgrades, and project steering committees as assigned.
  • Approve high-value payments, manage banking relationships, and oversee financial risk controls (e.g., setting transaction limit thresholds).
  • Manage exception cases and handle escalations as required.

We are looking for people who

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy or full qualification in Professional Accounting (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, ICAEW).
  • Minimum 8 years of working experiences, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in financial institution preferably life insurance or established audit firm.
  • Experience in overseeing outsourced/shared service accounting models preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge in IFRS/MFRS, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across senior management, regulators and auditors.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
