About the Job
The AVP – End User Computing & Microsoft 365 Platform is responsible for the strategy, architecture, governance, operations and continuous improvement of Great Eastern's end-user computing and Microsoft 365 services. The role owns the enterprise digital workplace experience across endpoint computing, identity and access management, Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms, messaging services, information protection, and workplace productivity technologies. The position provides technical and operational leadership for modern workplace transformation initiatives, cloud services, security governance, and end-user experience across the Group.
The individual can be a solution architect and the subject matter expert to new enterprise technologies to be introduced affecting communications and collaboration and remote access and end-point computing.
- Manage all aspect of end point computing experience, as well as continuously refine the operating model supporting end point computing.
- Manage the Microsoft 365 platform strategy, governance, architecture and operations, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, Copilot, MDM, Intune and related collaboration services ensuring service availability, governance, adoption and continual improvement.
- Develop and implement an end-user computing strategy that aligns with the organization's overall IT Strategy.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of end-user computing systems including hardware, software and services
- Collaborate with other IT leaders to ensure that end point computing systems integrate with other IT Systems and Infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and solution architecture guidance for enterprise productivity, identity, collaboration and end-user computing platforms, ensuring alignment to enterprise technology standards, cybersecurity requirements and target-state architecture.
- Work with key stakeholders to understand their end-user computing needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Lead enterprise transformation initiatives involving end-user computing, Microsoft 365, cloud services, digital workplace technologies and workplace productivity solutions from planning through implementation and operational transition.
- Actively participate on activities which reduce the risk of reoccurring incidents such as problem management forums.
- Develop and manage the end-user computing budget ensuring resources and allocated appropriately and efficiently.
- Manage technology vendors, software subscriptions, support agreements, professional services engagements and strategic technology partnerships to ensure service quality, cost optimization and successful project delivery.
- Standby support after office hours for incident response, with activation for major incidents.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in end-user computing technology and incorporate them into the organization's strategy.
- Deploy, configure, and manage laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Manage enterprise identity and access management capabilities, including Entra ID administration, administrative privilege governance, application registrations, role-based access controls and identity security controls.
- Design, deploy, and support VDI solutions (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Optimize performance, scalability, and user experience in remote/hybrid environments
- Manage and architect enterprise messaging platforms including Exchange Hybrid, Exchange Online, mail routing, SMTP relay services, email security services and messaging integrations.
- Proactively monitor EndPoint Computing environments to detect and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot OS, hardware, and application problems with minimal user disruption.
- Enforce endpoint Security Policies (DLP, encryption, antivirus/EDR)
- Own endpoint and collaboration security capabilities including Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Conditional Access, endpoint protection, compliance controls and secure collaboration initiatives.
- Contribute to EndPoint Computing roadmap, focusing on user experience and efficiency
- Drive adoption of automation, artificial intelligence and workplace productivity technologies, including Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power Platform and related automation initiatives.
- Develop, maintain and govern enterprise technology policies, standards and procedures covering endpoint computing, Microsoft 365, identity management, access governance, data protection, cybersecurity and acceptable technology usage across the Group.
- Manage governance and compliance activities associated with end-user computing and Microsoft platforms, including audit reviews, user access matrix reviews, segregation of duties, technology risk assessments, third-party risk assessments and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Design and support cloud-based workplace solutions including Azure-hosted services, Azure VPN solutions, cloud virtual desktops and modern workplace architectures supporting hybrid workforce requirements.
We are looking for people with
- Possess Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with end-user computing and managing end-user computing team
- Excellent application and IT infrastructure troubleshooting skills using various toolsets; Understanding of system architecture and technology is necessary.
- Experience working with multiple teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams) for incident recovery and preventive measures.
- Planning and organisational skills for undertaking team leadership and BAU workload management.
- Strong knowledge of end-user computing systems and technologies like Microsoft O365, Active-Directory, email, including hardware and networking.
- Hands-on experience designing end-to-end end-user computing across Windows, macOS, mobile (iOS/Android) and VDI/Azure VDI
- Strong experience with Intune, Autopilot, GPO to MDM modernization, Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Conditional Access, Windows 11 enterprise refinements.
- Self-driven with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills to champion for culture change management initiatives within IT and with interfacing Business stakeholders
- Strong and factual communication skills and able to manage situations/conflicts and influence others
- Good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving and provide options and solutions.
- Ability to simplify complex challenges through creative architectures, automation, and novel integrations.
- Ability to design and implement of EndPoint Computing solutions. Develop reference architectures, decision frameworks and blueprints for scalable deployments.
- Having Microsoft Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect Expert will be a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID and Copilot.
- Experience managing Exchange Hybrid environments, email routing, SMTP relay infrastructure and enterprise messaging systems.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Conditional Access and enterprise security governance frameworks.
- Experience overseeing enterprise technology projects, architecture reviews, governance approvals, budget management and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with vendor management, contract governance, subscription management and technology procurement processes.
- Working knowledge of Azure services, cloud networking, Azure Virtual Desktop and hybrid cloud workplace architectures.
