At Forward College, our mission is to shape creators of technology through hands-on, industry-driven education. As part of this mission, the AWS re/Start program plays a vital role in empowering new talent to enter the cloud computing workforce with confidence and real-world readiness.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced cloud practitioner to join us as an AWS re/Start Trainer. In this role, you will guide learners through a rigorous, job-focused curriculum that covers cloud fundamentals, Linux, networking, Python, security, and hands-on AWS labs. Beyond teaching, you will shape learners mindsets, strengthen their technical foundation, and prepare them for AWS Cloud Practitioner certification and entry-level cloud careers. Your impact will directly contribute to building Malaysia's next generation of cloud-ready professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Delivery
- Deliver the official AWS re/Start curriculum in alignment with global standards.
- Teach cloud fundamentals, AWS services, Linux OS, networking, Python programming, databases, and security concepts.
- Facilitate hands-on labs, projects, scenario-based exercises, and real-world simulations.
- Prepare, schedule, and conduct assessments including quizzes, lab evaluations, and final competency tests.
- Track learner performance through weekly assessments and identify those needing additional coaching or revision.
- Support learners in preparing for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification exam.
Student Facilitation & Support
- Equip learners with job-readiness skills, including CV reviews, mock interviews, and career guidance.
- Provide one-to-one mentoring for students who require additional support.
- Foster teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical thinking in the classroom.
- Maintain an encouraging, supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth.
Assessment & Program Management
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and learner progress.
- Collaborate with the Academic and Program teams to ensure smooth delivery and learner success.
- Uphold training excellence and consistency in line with AWS re/Start quality expectations.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills
Candidates must have at least one active AWS certification during the engagement:
- AWS SysOps Administrator Associate
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
Additionally, candidates must have:
- Minimum one year of experience as a primary instructor teaching and managing IT-focused courses.
- Practical expertise in at least three of the following areas:
- Linux Operating System
- Scripting languages (Shell, Python)
- Networking & Security fundamentals
- Relational Databases
- DevOps concepts and processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and teaching ability.
- Patient, supportive, and genuinely passionate about learner success.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical learners.
- Proactive, organised, and capable of managing diverse classroom dynamics.
Preferred Experience (Highly Advantageous but Not Mandatory)
- Prior experience training adult learners, students, or professionals.
- Experience delivering cloud bootcamps, AWS re/Start, or similar technical programs.
- Hands-on industry experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.
