Azure Architect & Database Lead Administrator

Database Lead Administrator & Azure Architect to lead the 24/7 support and maintenance of IT infrastructure services at the customer location. This role demands deep technical expertise in database architecture (Cloud & On-Prem), strong knowledge of cloud, DB design & modelling and the ability to ensure high standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security, and performance across business-critical systems.

· Azure Architect: Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions including different IaaS & PaaS databases across cloud and on-prem environments.

· Database Lead Administrator: Able to lead dynamic team of DBAs and primarily responsible for communicating with client, vendors, application team and other stakeholders.

· Database Architect: Able to analyze the requirement and propose the best suited database solution as per requirement including pricing and features.

· Database Design & Modelling: Expert in designing different databases including structure, source platform, security, integrity and performance.

· Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: Expertise in managing and maintaining Oracle Cloud including provisioning, patching, networking and security etc.

· Database Migration and Transformation: Should be proficient in migrating the database (one platform to other), transforming the databases (IaaS to PaaS migration including underlying database) and upgrading the databases (In-place and out of place migration of DB versions).

· Oracle Database Administration: Expert in managing oracle databases across on-premises, Azure Cloud and OCI databases. Should be proficient in installation, configuration, setting up HA (RAC & ASM, Disaster Recovery (Data-Guard), maintenance of security standards & structure and implementing backup-recovery solutions.

· MySQL & PostgreSQL Database Administration: Expert in managing MySQL databases across on-premises and Azure Cloud. Should be proficient in installation, configuration, Disaster Recovery (Master-Slave or Replication in Azure), maintenance of security standards & structure and implementing backup-recovery solutions.

· MSSQL Database Administration: Expert in managing MSSQL databases across on-premises and Azure Cloud including SQL Managed Instances. Should be proficient in installation, configuration, setting up HA (Always On / Failover Groups), Disaster Recovery (Always On, Mirroring, Replication), maintenance of security standards & structure and implementing backup-recovery solutions including backup to Azure BLOB.

· DB2 Database Administration: Expert in managing IBM DB2 and PostgreSQL databases across on-premises and Azure Cloud. Should be proficient in installation, configuration, setting up HA (Pacemaker or TSM Cluster), DPF, Disaster Recovery, maintenance of security standards & structure and implementing backup-recovery solutions.

· Cloud FinOps: Should have experience in analyzing cloud costs, generate cloud usage report (to be shared with clients) and managing reservations for cost optimization.

· Security & Compliance: Support vulnerability assessment (VA) scanning and remediation at the infrastructure & database layer.

· Incident & Operations Management: Experience in leading high-severity incident calls, oversee data center operations.

· Reporting & Audits: Generate operational, database and audit reports; collaborate with internal/external audit teams.

· Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts for critical incidents and maintenance activities.

· 24/7 Infra & Database Support Ownership: Responsible for continuous support and maintenance of customer IT infrastructure including all databases.

· Experience in implementing and continuously improving ITIL processes including Incident, Change, Problem, Capacity, and Availability Management.

· Proven ability to manage high-severity incidents with composure and efficiency.

· Broad technical expertise across the full infrastructure stack (Operating Systems, Databases, Cloud platforms, Storage, Backup, and Network).

· Strong scripting and automation skills using tools like Ansible, with familiarity in UNIX/Linux & Windows environments.

· Ability to handle end-to-end infrastructure services, ensuring seamless integration and performance across diverse technologies.

· Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively engage with vendors and stakeholders for operational success.

· Good to have certification for Azure, Oracle and OCI.

· Exposure on Azure Databases including COSMOS DB.
