Job Summary
The B4 Chargeman is responsible to lead and supervise the Electrical Maintenance Section, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment up to 33kV. This role involves planning, executing, and monitoring maintenance activities in compliance with statutory requirements, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations, and company standards to ensure uninterrupted solar power generation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To lead and supervise the electrical maintenance activities of the Power Plant, i.e (Waste to Energy (WSF), Waste Segregation Facility (WSF) and Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP) are executed in accordance with maintenance procedure and by the most cost-efficient means.
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems, equipment and machinery up to 33kV.
- Perform routine inspections, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance task list and maintenance schedule, in order to maintain equipment integrity.
- Solve recurring and outstanding problems related to the plant systems or equipment; in order to improve plant performance.
- Provide maintenance engineering supports, solutions and execution, in order to improve plant performance.
- Develop and review preventive and predictive maintenance task list and maintenance schedule, in order to maintain equipment integrity.
- Ensure safekeeping and safe handling of tools and equipments and maintain its register and inventory.
- Liaison with other Sections during coordination of maintenance activities, if applicable.
- Manage a team of contractors in maintaining the mechanical equipment, under Electrical Section Scope.
- Coordinate Outage Tasks, which include tasks scheduling, manpower requirement, manpower arrangement, liaison with contractors and report writing.
- Initiate changes and additions to Electrical Maintenance Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Control Measure (HIRAC), Work Instructions and Work Procedures.
- Monitor and optimize spare parts and consumables holdings for the area of responsibility.
- Prepare technical specifications for external work supply and review tenders.
- Develop and manage maintenance contracts for outsourcing services and resources.
- Execute troubleshooting works related to electrical equipment and carry out assigned duties with due skill, care, and diligence.
- Undertake any tasks or responsibilities assigned by the superior as and when required.
Qualification & Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Chargeman B4 (33kV) certification issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in electrical maintenance of power generation facilities, preferably solar farms, substations, or power plants.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, inverters, and protection relays.
- Familiar with statutory requirements, ST regulations, and industry standards for HV operations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, supervisory, and reporting skills.
