Back End Developer

What You'll Do

• Build the core backend platform using Golang, including authentication, user and account management, order processing, ledger management, and audit logging. You'll be building from scratch with no legacy code.
• Design simple, secure, and maintainable systems that are easy for auditors and penetration testers to understand.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize backend services on AWS (EC2/ECS, RDS/PostgreSQL, S3, IAM) following the architecture defined by the Senior Technical Advisor.
• Prepare the platform for external penetration testing by implementing OWASP Top 10 security best practices and remediating identified vulnerabilities.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including system architecture, data models, and security design, to support regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, and security teams while participating in thorough code reviews for security-critical features.
• Leverage AI coding tools to improve productivity while maintaining full ownership of code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure sensitive company and customer data is handled securely and only within approved AI tools and internal controls.

Requirements

• Strong backend programming fundamentals with experience in Golang preferred. Candidates with solid experience in Python, Node.js, or Java and a willingness to build in Go are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience delivering at least one end-to-end backend project, whether through work, internships, freelance engagements, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, with the ability to validate and take ownership of generated code.
• Good understanding of SQL/PostgreSQL, Git, and RESTful API development.
• Passion for learning and working in a regulated fintech environment where security, code quality, and peer reviews are essential.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (professional or personal projects).
• Knowledge of fintech or payment systems, including concepts such as double-entry ledgers and idempotency.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, or cybersecurity coursework.
• Experience preparing applications for penetration testing or security audits.
