About you: 

We're seeking an accomplished .NET developer with genuine passion for their craft who thrives on building and scaling the backbone of modern cloud applications. You'll join a talented, collaborative team at Fathom (part of The Access Group family), where we combine insightful reporting, forecasting and financial analytics into one comprehensive business management solution.

As someone who takes initiative and pride in delivering quality work, you'll contribute to both our core platform and customer-facing features. Your work will span data visualisation, systems integration, accounting domain logic, AI integration and complex computational challenges. You'll tackle intricate scaling, performance and quality problems whilst employing diverse technological approaches to realise our vision.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Implementing robust logging and exception handling frameworks across our applications
  • Conducting thorough peer code reviews to maintain our high quality standards
  • Proactively identifying and resolving bugs with meticulous attention to detail
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, designers and front-end engineers to deliver new features
  • Integrating seamlessly with third-party applications through their APIs
  • Practising test-driven development and ensuring comprehensive test coverage
  • Optimising SQL queries and database performance

Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET framework; our stack includes SQL Server, .NET Core, Web API, SignalR, Redis, and JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, D3, jQuery)
  • Solid understanding of test-driven development, SOLID principles and clean architecture
  • Demonstrated commitment to code quality, maintainable architecture, and thoughtful database design
  • Self-motivated learner who stays current with emerging technologies and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset

Highly valued:

  • Experience with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Redis, Cosmos DB, Service Bus)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, particularly large language models
  • Familiarity with accounting principles
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
