Job Description

  • Administer the backup and restoration using TSM, Netbackup, Networker, Data Protector, Backup Exec, VEAAM Backup and data Domain applications.
  • Monitor scheduled backup jobs and troubleshoot issues (server and client side) to ensure success or take remedial action for missed and failed backup jobs.
  • Work with Backup and Restoration Team and relevant parties in troubleshooting backup jobs issues on platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, VMware, and UNIX servers).
  • Makes recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity.
  • Install, maintain, update and administer TSM, Netbackup, Backup Exec and VEAAM Backup applications.
  • Create and update documentation including daily and weekly backup reports.
  • Create Incident and Change request tickets via ITSM Remedy.
  • Respond to email alerts and assigned ITSM Remedy tickets providing timely status updates to relevant parties.
  • Ability to provide 24x7 rotating on-call support.
  • Expected to work during off-peak hours on system activities (e.g. patching, upgrade, server shutdown)
  • Review and update business SLA's documents.
  • Participates in annual systems DR drill activities performing the assigned task for Backup and Restoration Team.

You bring:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline;
  • Holder of ITIL Foundation or above is a plus
  • 5-7 years relevant working experiences in Backup and Storage technology
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, Can-do attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Knowing in Storage technology is a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skillsin English, Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus.
