2.Job Responsibilities :

Backup Engineer requires an individual to be able to understand backup needs, select the appropriate products and develop the appropriate processes to meet those needs, and certify the solutions for deployment in production environment.

- Provide engineering and technical support on Backup solutions.

- Assist with capacity planning and management and make recommendations for strategic decisions.

- Participate in Backup hardware and software certification activities

- Collaborate with principals, vendors and internal groups conducting Proof of Concept (POC) in evaluating appropriate solutions for business needs.

- Recognize and give recommendation on how emerging technology can be implemented adhering to industry standard practices.

- Establish and maintain relationships with Managed Service Provider (MSP) that supporting daily operational activities.

- Lead technical escalation of Backup problem troubleshooting with internal and external groups of support.

- Individual will need the ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong technical knowledge.

3.Primary skill set:

Backup Specific

Ability to design, implement, document, and maintain enterprise backup & recovery solutions across on-premises and cloud environments

Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Commvault Data protections and recovery, Cloud backup, Backup data security and resiliency

Familiar with Backup management software (application for managing on-prem and cloud backups) such as Commvault Command Center, Commcell Management Console

Strong foundational understanding of backup architecture, recovery strategies, RPO/RTO requirements, and data lifecycle management.

Experienced in managing and supporting hybrid backup environments, ensuring smooth integration and consistent protection across both cloud and onprem infrastructures.
