What you'll do:

As Sales Director IT Services based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business acquisition across multiple technology domains. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing targeted strategies for high-growth sectors such as BFSI, Energy & Utilities, and Manufacturing. You will engage directly with prospective clients at senior levels to understand their unique challenges and design tailored solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. By leveraging your consultative selling skills and market insights, you will generate qualified leads, nurture long-term relationships with C-level executives, and manage complex sales cycles from inception through closure. Success in this role requires not only achieving ambitious revenue targets but also laying down scalable frameworks for future growth. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure each proposal is both innovative and aligned with client objectives while maintaining rigorous standards of commercial acumen throughout every stage of the process.

  • Lead new business acquisition efforts across IT services-including infrastructure, application, and business process domains-by identifying and pursuing high-value opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy tailored to the unique needs of clients within BFSI, Energy & Utilities, and Manufacturing sectors.
  • Proactively generate qualified leads through direct client engagement, strategic partnerships, and insightful market intelligence gathering.
  • Define compelling value propositions that address client challenges and collaborate cross-functionally to craft persuasive bids and proposals.
  • Cultivate enduring C-level relationships with key decision-makers to build a robust pipeline of strategic accounts for sustained revenue growth.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation to closing deals, ensuring delivery of total contract value (TCV), revenue targets, and profitability goals.
  • Operate autonomously while establishing scalable processes that lay the foundation for future sales expansion within the region.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams-including delivery, solution architects, and marketing-to ensure seamless execution of client engagements.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic planning and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

  • A minimum of 12 years total experience with at least 6 years dedicated to IT services sales within Malaysia's dynamic market landscape.
  • Demonstrated success in hunting roles at multinational IT consulting firms-proactively identifying opportunities rather than relying solely on existing accounts.
  • Proven ability to independently close at least three deals exceeding USD 3 million each within the past two years-showcasing your capacity for high-value transactions.
  • Deep understanding of Malaysia's IT spending patterns along with sector-specific buying behaviours across BFSI, Energy & Utilities, and Manufacturing industries.
  • Exceptional communication skills enabling you to articulate complex value propositions clearly to diverse stakeholders including C-level executives.
  • Advanced negotiation abilities combined with strong stakeholder management skills that foster trust-based partnerships over time.
  • Commercially astute mindset with forward-thinking approach towards planning, forecasting, and adapting strategies based on evolving market conditions.
  • Experience collaborating effectively within multicultural teams while operating independently when required to achieve shared objectives.
  • A consultative approach that prioritises empathy for client needs alongside technical expertise in solution selling.
