Job Description

* This position will be at our Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia production plant.

We are based in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, where over 900 full-time staff work in 51,000 square meters of covered shop floor. This working environment has been carefully designed to allow cutting-edge technology to operate hand-in-hand with traditional craftsmanship.

We are seeking an experienced and skilledShipwright/Composite Boat Builderto join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team responsible for composite fit-out and the installation of moulded FRP components and structures within our production line. You will work closely with our local team to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout production.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Fitting out boats according to technical specifications and engineering drawings.

Installing fuel tanks, moulded liners, and hull and deck joints.

Inspecting completed tasks for quality and ensuring specifications are met.

Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Collaborating with other departments, including designers, engineers, and MEP, to ensure and improve a streamlined production process.

Operating specialised equipment and tools used in boat construction and repair.

Monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies and materials as required.

Performing routine maintenance checks and repairs on tools and equipment.

Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

What we prefer:

Proven experience as a Shipwright or Composite Boat Builder, with a minimum of 5 years in the field.

In-depth knowledge of boatbuilding techniques, especially working with composite materials.

Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and specialised boatbuilding equipment.

A strong understanding of safety practices and regulations in boatbuilding.

The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

A Diploma or Certificate in Boat Building/Shipwright.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position, working 5 days a week from 7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be willing to relocate to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
