Job Responsibilities
General
- Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI) as required.
- Conduct routine inspections on equipment systems to identify and address potential issues.
- Independently perform preventive maintenance activities on a scheduled basis to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize breakdowns.
- Diagnose equipment failures and carry out timely and effective repairs.
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment issues.
- Execute repairs and replacement of faulty components.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand equipment specifications.
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with operational standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for improvement.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Implement and uphold food safety and quality standards at all times.
- Participate in safety and technical training programs and actively promote a culture of safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderate-level equipment issues.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers on complex repairs and system improvements.
- Assist in the procurement, inventory, and organization of spare parts and maintenance materials.
- Monitor and analyze equipment downtime trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Boilerman Responsibilities
- Perform duties as a Boilerman (Driver) in accordance with the Factories and Machinery Act 1967.
- Ensure all boilers and Thermal Oil Heaters (TOH) are operating safely and efficiently at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate boilers and TOHs according to defined operational parameters to support production requirements.
- Attend to emergency breakdowns and perform troubleshooting for boilers and TOH systems.
- Monitor and record thermal oil levels and expansion tank conditions.
- Manage diesel level monitoring, ordering, and receiving.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for boiler systems.
- Perform boiler water treatment and maintain chemical usage records.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety of the boiler area.
Water Supply System Responsibilities
- Monitor incoming main water supply (SYABAS), tank levels, and promptly report abnormalities or low-level alarms.
- Conduct visual water quality checks and perform backwashing as required.
- Perform weekly inspections on water filtration systems and report conditions.
- Ensure all booster pumps are functioning properly and report any issues.
- Ensure water tanks are cleaned and tank seals are checked bi-weekly, with proper documentation.
- Inspect, clean, and replace water filters as necessary.
Qualification / Experience
- Certified Drebar Enjin Stim (Gred 2) & (Gred 1)- DOSH
- Minimum SKM3 / Diploma / Professional Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong technical understanding of basic manufacturing equipment
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem solving, analysis and decision-making skills.
- 2+ years of experience in related area
