Job Description

About The Role:

Our client is ready to build a stronger brand presence beyond its core industry, and they need someone who can open doors. This role is the bridge between their brand and the outside world — media, industry figures, and strategic partners. They will be responsible for developing our external communications strategy, managing media relationships, and helping shape the public image of the company and its leadership. They are seeking for someone proactive, confident in front of people at all levels, and able to build this function largely independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and develop relationships with media partners, including online media outlets, digital publications, and relevant industry channels
  • Pitch and coordinate media collaboration opportunities such as co-branded features, media placements, interview placements, and leadership profiles
  • Develop and manage a structured media outreach plan from first contact through content delivery and follow-up
  • Support personal brand development for senior leadership: coordinate media appearances, draft talking points, and manage external communications calendars
  • Write and distribute press releases and official statements for major company announcements, milestones, and events
  • Build and maintain an ongoing database of media contacts, journalists, editors, and content partners
  • Develop and refine the company's overall brand communications strategy in alignment with the Marketing team
  • Monitor external brand presence and media coverage, and provide regular reporting and insights
  • Coordinate with Design and Content teams to ensure all external-facing materials are brand-consistent and aligned with communications objectives
  • Identify and explore strategic partnership and co-marketing opportunities to expand brand reach

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in brand communications, media relations, corporate communications, or external affairs
  • Bilingual proficiency: fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken); excellent English writing is essential
  • Proven ability to independently develop and manage media and external stakeholder relationships
  • Comfortable communicating with people at all levels, from content creators to senior executives
  • Strong written communication skills, including compelling pitches, press releases, executive profiles, and brand copy
  • Self-directed and resourceful, able to build external relationships and create opportunities without a pre-existing playbook

Working Location:

Petaling Jaya, Selangor 

Remuneration:

MYR 3,500 - MYR 5,000
