Key Responsibilities:
- Research, gather, and verify information for news stories, focusing on current affairs, politics, and the economy.
- Write and prepare scripts for television news reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journalistic standards.
- Conduct interviews with relevant individuals, experts, and eyewitnesses to gather insights and quotes for news stories.
- Present news reports in a clear, confident, and engaging manner while adhering to professional broadcasting standards.
- Collaborate with the production team to develop visually appealing news segments, incorporating multimedia elements when necessary.
- Stay updated with the latest news developments and emerging trends in the BM/English media landscape.
- Maintain high ethical standards in reporting and adhere to the principles of fair and unbiased journalism.
- Follow FMT guidelines and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of news reports.
What we're looking for:
- Strong interest in news and current affairs
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills in BM or English
- Comfortable appearing on camera with strong presentation skills
- Strong research and fact-checking abilities
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic newsroom environment
- Prior experience in journalism, broadcast media, or digital video content is an advantage
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field
- Preferably 2–3 years of relevant experience
- A portfolio/showreel of published work or video content
