Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Engineer to drive growth and expand

our presence in the solar PV industry. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and

business acumen to identify new opportunities, develop client relationships, and support the design and

implementation of solar solutions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and passionate

about renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the BESS & solar PV sector, including commercial,

industrial, and utility-scale projects.

• Develop and maintain relationships with C-level stakeholders, including clients, partners,

government agencies, and industry associations.

• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing strategies, and potential areas for growth.

• Assist in the technical evaluation of solar PV + storage projects, including feasibility studies, site

assessments, and preliminary system design.

• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop proposals, financial models, and project

reports.

• Support the preparation of tenders, RFPs, and permit applications for solar PV + storage projects.

• Present technical and business solutions to clients, ensuring clear communication of value

propositions.

• Stay ahead in BESS and Solar PV technologies with an innovative approach on status quo.

• Assist in post-sales activities, including project coordination, client support, and performance

monitoring.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master/Bachelor's degree in Finance, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Analytical mindset and commercial awareness

• 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or engineering within the solar PV or

renewable energy industry.

• Finance-oriented with strong quantitative skills. Ability to analyse financial models and assess the economic viability of solar plus storage projects.

• Native or fluent Mandarin (written and spoken)

• Strong communication skills in Malay & English.

• Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Up to speed with regulatory frameworks, incentives, and policies related to renewable energy.

• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
