Business Analyst, Manager (Settlement Operations) | 6-Month Contract

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days WFH)

Employment Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Market Coverage: Australia (DCC Market)

Basic Salary : RM3100 Per month

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Settlement Operations team as a Business Analyst, Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end settlement of financial market transactions for the Australian market, ensuring trades are processed accurately, reconciled timely, and settled within market deadlines.

In addition to daily settlement activities, you will support key initiatives, system enhancements, and testing activities to strengthen operational efficiency and risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

Settlement Operations

  • Process and monitor daily settlement transactions for Equity, Fixed Income, Discount, and Cash products.
  • Perform trade matching and pre-matching activities to ensure smooth settlement.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations and investigate settlement exceptions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all settlement activities in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders on settlement-related queries.

Risk & Control

  • Maintain a strong control environment to minimize operational risk.
  • Monitor and resolve settlement breaks and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with market practices and regulatory requirements.

Project & Change Support

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing activities.
  • Support system releases, enhancements, and remediation initiatives.
  • Contribute to operational improvement projects and process enhancements.

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in Settlement Operations, Custody Operations, Securities Services, Investment Operations, Trade Support, Middle Office, or related areas.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
  • Knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, Cash, or related financial products.
  • Experience in reconciliation, exception management, and operational processing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Banking, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Australian market settlement processes.
  • Experience with UAT, system implementation, or operational projects.
  • Background in custody services or capital markets operations.

Working Hours

This role operates on a rotating shift basis to support the Australian market:

Daylight Savings Period (Oct-Apr):

  • 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Non-Daylight Savings Period (Apr-Oct):

  • 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
