Business Analyst - Loan Origination Systems
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and lending operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with loan systems implementation, configuration, and process optimization. Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business requirements for loan origination system enhancements and implementations
- Work closely with lending operations teams to understand end-to-end loan processes from application through funding
- Configure and customize loan origination platforms to meet business needs and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with IT, development teams, and vendors to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Conduct gap analysis between current and desired state of loan systems and processes
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with stakeholders for system validation
- Create detailed process flows, use cases, user stories, and functional specifications
- Provide training and support to end users on loan system functionality
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, preferably in lending
- Strong hands-on experience with Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass, Calyx Point, Byte, nCino, Finastra, Temenos, or similar platforms)
- Deep understanding of loan lifecycle from origination through servicing
- Knowledge of various loan products including consumer loans, mortgages, commercial loans, or small business lending
- Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation
- Familiarity with lending compliance requirements and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with loan management systems and servicing platforms
- Knowledge of APIs and system integrations in lending environments
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with data migration and system implementation projects
- Understanding of credit decisioning engines and automated underwriting systems
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) or similar credentials
