Job Description
1. Major Activities:
- To develop and ensure success of each new freight product while continuously improving Revenue/ GP on existing products/ promotion trade lanes
- To lead, supervise and evaluate the sales team and to meet/ exceed sales target for the sales team
- To penetrate new MNC accounts for RFQ opportunities
- To undertake other assignment from the Management
2. Time Management
- Visitation first customer estimate 10am, last customer by 4pm
- Utilise laptops and mobile phones
- Maximise percentage of time in front of customers
- Minimise travel time
- Use Customer Service for follow ups for small customers
- Call on accounts in clusters
3. Self-Organization
- Plan each day, week, month and each call
- Keep sales aids in mint condition
- Dress neatly and maintain a neat automobile
- Present professional image
- After each call fill in customer profile and daily sales activities report
4. Administrative
- Maintain customer profiles and customer files
- Submit the following in a timely manner; daily planner (MyHome)/ call reports
- Communicate competitive information during sales meetings
- Complete and submit credit applications for new accounts before actual shipment movement
- Confidentially not to divulge all matters, transactions or interests pertaining to Company matters
5. Leadership
- Be a proactive team player in DIMPEN sales team to achieve total business budget, other than personal achievement only
- Be a good and timely communicator in all aspects of sales and marketing matters with the team members, and with other department within the organization
6. Company Relations
- Comply with all company policies and operate within the expense budget
- Work with, develop positive relationships with, communicate with and coordinate activities with other employees in marketing, customer service, operations, finance and accounting, human resources, internally and externally with overseas offices and counterparts
- Communicate effectively; cooperate with your fellow salespeople and management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years sales working experience in related field (forwarding/transportation/freight industry)
- Minimum SPM/STPM/Diploma/Advance/Higher/Graduate in Diploma in Logistic/ Transportation or
equivalent
- Knowledge in Ocean Freight
- Strong analytical and organization skills
- Strong forwarding industry knowledge and logistics product
- Accuracy and meticulous
- Persistent and consistent
- Sense of responsibility, open mind set and willing to accept criticism/ correction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Words, Excel, Power point)
- Proficient in English and Malay
- Able to adapt to a fast pace environment
- Instilled with a can do and positive attitude
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to motivate, coach and develop team members
