Maneknya is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Peranakan art. We specialize in creating beautiful, culturally inspired items that celebrate the unique fusion of Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian influences; based in Malaysia & Singapore region.
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Business Development Intern to join our team. The Intern will be responsible for tasks such as lead generation, market research in both of our 2 markets, managing different projects and communication to support the business development initiatives. If you love fashion / culture, that's a bonus point!
Responsibilities
The Business Development Intern at Maneknya will support the growth and expansion of the brand by assisting the Business Development team in various tasks related to market research, sales strategy, and partnership development. This role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to gain hands-on experience in the art and fashion industries, with a focus on business growth and strategic planning. You will work with the founder directly.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and potential opportunities.
- Compile and analyze data on competitors, market conditions, and target demographics.
- Identify potential clients, partners, and collaborators by conducting research and outreach.
- Assist in preparing sales materials, proposals, and presentations for meetings with potential clients and partners.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to assist in the planning and execution of promotional campaigns, events, and exhibitions.
- Organize and maintain BD files, documents, and records.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, calls, and events for the team.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on the progress of various BD initiatives and projects.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and training opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of business development strategies.
- Take on special projects lead role as needed by the company.
- Generate leads and identify market opportunities.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the art, fashion, cultural heritage or luxury goods industries.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing & Peranakan culture is a plus.
Allowance: RM 800 - RM 1,000 / month
