About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to support business growth across the data centre and critical infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and driving sales performance across Malaysia and selected APAC markets.

This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently while collaborating closely with technical and operational teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the data centre, engineering, construction, and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead qualification to proposal preparation, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Grow existing accounts and establish long-term business partnerships.
  • Track market developments, upcoming projects, and industry trends to identify potential opportunities.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and CRM updates.
  • Participate in industry events, exhibitions, and networking activities to expand market presence.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Support market expansion initiatives across Malaysia and the wider APAC region.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience working with engineering, construction, industrial, energy, infrastructure, or data centre-related industries is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to travel regularly for client meetings and business development activities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network within the data centre, mission-critical infrastructure, engineering, or construction sectors.
  • Technical sales experience or exposure to industrial electrical systems, testing, commissioning, or power-related solutions.
  • Mandarin language skills will be considered an advantage.
