Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies to expand the business within the Malaysian market.
  • Drive the transition from a traditional distributor-focused model to a sustainable and profitable direct-to-consumer (D2C/B2C) business model.
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and growth channels to accelerate revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Establish short- and long-term business plans, sales targets, and growth initiatives aligned with company objectives.

E-Commerce Development & Digital Growth

  • Lead the development and expansion of the company's e-commerce business across marketplaces, brand-owned platforms, and social commerce channels.
  • Develop and implement digital sales strategies to drive online traffic, conversion rates, and customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams to execute online campaigns, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize e-commerce performance metrics, including sales conversion, customer acquisition cost, average order value, and customer retention.

Offline Channel Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish offline sales channels, including retail partnerships, concept stores, home furnishing outlets, and other relevant consumer touchpoints.
  • Explore opportunities for showroom development, pop-up stores, exhibitions, and strategic retail collaborations to strengthen brand presence.
  • Develop and execute channel strategies to maximize sales performance across both modern retail and specialty retail environments.

Brand Building & Consumer Engagement

  • Develop initiatives to strengthen brand awareness, positioning, and customer engagement within the local market.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive activities to refine business and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing teams to develop campaigns, promotions, and brand activation programs to drive consumer demand.

Sales & Commercial Management

  • Drive revenue growth and profitability across online and offline channels.
  • Develop pricing strategies, promotional programs, and sales initiatives to maximize market competitiveness and business performance.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze business results, and recommend improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless business execution and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize inventory planning, product assortment, and fulfillment capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, agencies, platform providers, and retail partners.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare regular business performance reports, sales forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Utilize market insights and data analytics to drive informed business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, E-Commerce, Retail Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in business development, e-commerce, retail expansion, or commercial roles.
  • Proven experience in developing and growing B2C/D2C businesses, preferably within home furnishing, furniture, home décor, lifestyle, consumer products, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling e-commerce and omnichannel businesses within the Malaysian market.
  • Experience managing online marketplaces (e.g., Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop) and retail channel development is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of e-commerce, digital commerce, retail operations, and omnichannel business models.
  • Proven business development capabilities with strong commercial and entrepreneurial acumen.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer behavior, market trends, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business performance data and translate insights into action plans.
  • Experience with digital marketing, online sales analytics, CRM, and e-commerce platforms is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting tools.
