Business Development Manager

(Penangbased)

Job Overview

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to develop and grow new business opportunities within assigned territories, sectors, and targeted accounts. The role is responsible for managing the full sales lifecycle, building strong client relationships, and achieving revenue and productivity targets through disciplined execution and crossfunctional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities with prospective customers and named target accounts.
  • Conduct regular client visits and sales calls in line with defined KPIs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in the CRM system.
  • Prepare gross profit and volume forecasts, and develop short and longterm action plans to achieve sales objectives.
  • Manage the endtoend sales process, including pipeline management, opportunity tracking, and sales cycle reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate customer and prospect data within the CRM system to support effective relationship management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including sales support teams, product specialists, and subjectmatter experts, to improve win rates and customer solutions.
  • Meet or exceed monthly productivity and revenue targets.
  • Support smooth customer onboarding by coordinating with operations teams during implementation and handover phases.
  • Partner with Finance to support optimal receivables performance and achieve targeted Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Continuously enhance product and market knowledge by completing required training and staying informed on service offerings.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in an industrial, logistics, or B2B services environment.
  • Selfmotivated, disciplined, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong planning, execution, and goalsetting capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work crossfunctionally and manage internal interfaces.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Sound judgment and decisionmaking ability, with resilience under time pressure.
  • Strong administrative discipline with a customercentric mindset.
  • Teamoriented, collaborative, and resultsfocused approach
