Kardex Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead our Remstar Division growth initiatives in the Southeast Asia region. Our automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) solutions cover the vertical lifts, vertical carousels and order picking software, which would help various industries to optimize their intralogistics.
The role will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and forging strategic partnerships that contribute directly to regional revenue and profitability goals. He/she shall have a deep understanding of SEA market dynamics, a proven record in high-value deal-making, and the ability to align business development strategies with the regions long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
New Account Acquisition
- Identify, approach, and win new customers in priority verticals (e.g. Pharmaceuticals & 3PL), based on a clear target list.
- Own the full sales cycle: from prospecting and qualification to solution shaping, proposal, and deal closure - working closely with local sales and marcom.
- Position Kardexs value in solving industry-specific challenges with compelling business cases.
Vertical Market Development
- Act as an internal expert for selected verticals, with a deep understanding of market trends, regulations, and customer needs.
- Collaborate with Marcom to tailor campaigns, messaging, and solutions to the verticals unique requirements.
- Map the regional white space and identify high-potential targets
Strategic Account Development
- Build and expand relationships with key accounts in focus verticals, across multiple sites or business units.
- Drive cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with our regional and emerging global key account programs (it&aposs in the works in HQ).
Ecosystem & Partnership Engagement
- Engage key stakeholders in the value chain - such as distributors, system integrators, consultants, and OEM partners.
- Leverage networks to co-develop solutions and strengthen vertical go-to-market efforts.
Internal Collaboration & Enablement
- Share vertical best practices and success stories across markets.
- Support enablement of local sales teams in vertical-specific value selling.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Masters preferred).
- Minimum 58 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within Southeast Asia.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and business development targets.
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, cultural nuances, and business practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in English (additional SEA languages an advantage).
