Your Role in VT Markets

As theBusiness Development Team Lead based in Malaysia, you will report to the Regional Sales Head within our Sales team (GCN Team) with a strategic focus onthe Great China and Hong Kong Markets. You will lead and develop a team of 3-5 Business Development Executives while also maintaining individual contributor responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with the GCN Marketing team and cross-functional departments to drive market expansion across GCN and Hong Kong. Your critical impact will be establishing VT Markets as a leading presence through effective team leadership, strategic market development, and direct client acquisition that drives significant revenue growth and market penetration.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Job Experience & Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred

3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or financial services with at least 2-3 years in team leadership roles

Proven track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams while maintaining individual sales excellence

Technical and Functional Skills

Native or fluent Mandarin and English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Cantonese proficiency is a significant advantage

Strong knowledge of financial markets, trading platforms, and regulatory environment in Greater China and Hong Kong; FX knowledge is highly advantageous

Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and team management platforms

Soft Skills

Exceptional leadership and people management skills with ability to inspire and develop team members

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across cultures and organizational levels

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with proven ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies

Other Requirements

This position offers a work sponsorship visa in Malaysia

Flexibility to travel within Hong Kong and the GCN region for campaign or event, team development, and market expansion activities

Willingness to maintain both leadership responsibilities and individual contributor performance standards

Job Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-5 Business Development Executives, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development support

Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies for the Great China and Hong Kong Market, identifying key opportunities and competitive positioning

Team Development: Build team capabilities through training programs, best practice sharing, and performance optimization initiatives

Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with our Forex products, market trends, and industry developments across Greater China and Hong Kong region. Articulate the benefits of our services to clients and train team members

Achieve Targets:Meet and exceed both individual and team sales targets by consistently delivering exceptional results and driving team performance

Collaboration: Work closely with our research, marketing, and operation teams to ensure seamless client experiences and effective go-to-market strategies

Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent for the business development team in alignment with company growth objectives

Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and strategic planning sessions to ensure alignment with business goals

Analyze market data and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and adjust tactics for optimal market penetration

Represent VT Markets at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence in the Great China and Hong Kong Market
