About the Role
The Business Director, South East Asia is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving sustainable growth, market expansion, and profitability of the Sealed Air Protective Packaging business across South East Asia.
This role leads regional business development strategy, owns commercial performance, and partners closely with global and APAC leadership to translate strategy into disciplined execution. The position plays a critical role in strengthening Sealed Air's market presence, expanding strategic customer and channel partnerships, and ensuring long-term value creation across the region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Business & Market Leadership
- Define and execute the South East Asia business development strategy for Sealed Air's Protective Packaging portfolio, aligned with APAC and global priorities.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across key industries, applications, customer segments, and geographies.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to shape strategic positioning and value propositions.
- Drive profitable revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term business sustainability across the region.
2. Sales & Commercial Execution
- Own regional revenue, margin, and growth targets, ensuring disciplined sales execution and pipeline management.
- Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and commercial governance to deliver profitable outcomes.
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and business review cadence; provide clear performance reporting to regional and global leadership.
- Support complex, high-value customer negotiations and strategic commercial agreements.
3. Customer & Channel Development
- Build and strengthen senior-level relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners across South East Asia.
- Drive new business development, including new routes to market, channel capability development, and geographic expansion.
- Ensure consistent customer engagement and high satisfaction through value-based solutions and service excellence.
4. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional commercial and business development team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth mindset.
- Partner closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, finance, and global product teams to align priorities and execute regional plans.
- Act as a key member of the regional leadership team, contributing to broader APAC strategy and organizational capability building.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive senior commercial, sales leadership, or business development experience in B2B industrial or packaging-related sectors.
- Proven track record of driving growth across multiple markets within South East Asia or ASEAN.
- Strong experience in strategic account management, market development, and commercial strategy execution.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing regional or multi-country teams in matrixed organizations.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and executive-level communication skills.
- Fluent in English; additional Southeast Asian language capability is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across South East Asia as required.
