About the Job
Bears the primary responsibility as the liaison between Group IT and business to understand technological needs of business, assist with the oversight and prioritisation of IT projects, ensuring the projects are in alignment with Group IT strategies.
- Represent Group IT within the business team and attend business meetings and appropriate management forums, acting as the central point of information for all related IT activities.
- Assist with the prioritisation of projects, focusing on cost/ benefit analysis to proactively managing business demand.
- Formulate and manage IT budgets with Business units.
- Understand the IT landscape, Group IT strategy and make the appropriate recommendation to the business units.
- Assist the business to form process and system solutioning that are appropriate and adequately to satisfy both tactical and strategic business needs.
- Collaborates with Service Delivery teams for delivery of application and infrastructure services to the business units.
- Prepare communication materials for key stakeholders (e.g. ITDSC, GITMM, SMT etc).
- Manage any projects as assigned.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
We are looking for people with
- Has relevant degree level qualification or equivalent.
- Has at least 8 years working experience in financial service industry.
- Understand business domain and technology in Life and/or General Insurance.
- Experience in managing users/resources in multiple countries.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the development of communication materials.
- Ability to clearly and concisely articulate issue findings and facilitate resolution of issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player – including the ability to work with internal resources/external parties in multiple countries.
- Strong skills in portfolio/ project management (including managing multiple work streams) and project execution.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
