Job Summary
As a Buyer I at Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for production, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards. This role supports the supply chain by managing vendor relationships and optimizing procurement processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders for assigned commodities and services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes for the company.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning and production teams to ensure material availability and prevent stockouts or overstock.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on criteria such as quality, delivery, and cost, and participate in supplier reviews.
- Resolve issues related to procurement, including discrepancies in orders, invoices, and material quality.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update internal systems with current supplier information, pricing, and order details.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement function.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support new product introductions and material requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related supply chain role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
