A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Calibration Technician at MKS Malaysia, you will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Service to oversee the calibration program for all measurement and test equipment (M&TE) used in the manufacturing and inspection and repair of complex electromechanical devices. In this role, you will report to the Quality Engineering Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Implementing, and maintaining the site-wide calibration program in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer requirements.
- Ensuring all M&TE is calibrated on schedule and traceable to NMIM or equivalent standards.
- Maintaining calibration records in database(s) and ensure audit readiness.
- Establishing and monitoring calibration intervals based on usage, risk, and historical data.
- Managing relationships with external calibration service providers and ensure compliance with accreditation standards (ISO/IEC 17025).
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing calibration records and demonstrating process compliance.
- Investigating out-of-tolerance conditions and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensuring adherence to ESD, FOD, and cleanliness requirements for sensitive instruments.
- Analyzing calibration data to identify trends and optimize intervals
- Coordinate with Engineering and other tool owners on tool collections, calibration, validation and return to use base on calibration cycle.
- Local travel to calibration vendors may be necessary on an as-needed basis.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Metrology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in calibration/metrology, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, measurement uncertainty, and traceability requirements.
- Proficiency in dimensional and electrical calibration techniques and equipment.
- Experience with database systems for calibration management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in regulated industries (medical devices ISO 13485 or aerospace AS9100).
- Familiarity with GD&T, precision measurement tools, and automated calibration systems.
- Certification in metrology or calibration management (e.g., ASQ CCT or CMS).
- Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Manual handling of precision instruments; fine motor skills required.
- Work in controlled environments with PPE as needed.
