Job Description

JOB SCOPE

  • Create CNC programs using CAM software (such as Mastercam, NX CAM, SolidCAM, PowerMill, etc.)
  • Convert CAD drawings/models into machining toolpaths
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies
  • Optimize programs to reduce cycle time, improve surface finish, and minimize tool wear
  • Generate G-code for CNC machines (milling, turning, multi-axis)
  • Support CNC operators during setup and production
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and modify programs as needed
  • Ensure parts meet engineering drawings and tolerance requirements
  • Follow quality, safety, and manufacturing standards
  • Maintain proper documentation of programs and revisions

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and materials
  • Experience with 2-axis to 5-axis machining (depending on company)
