Description
We are recruiting for Cargo Operations Officer for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring smooth cargo operations at the station/region through close coordination with GHAs and staff. This role ensures adherence to local authority regulations and IATA standards for the effective movement of inbound and outbound cargo while minimizing operational costs.
Accountabilities
- Supervise and control functional operations at the station to ensure smooth cargo handling.
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure safe, secure, compliant, and efficient operations in line with Qatar Airways standards.
- Assist shippers and consignees with shipment-related inquiries.
- Represent Qatar Airways when dealing with external stakeholders including GHAs, cargo agents, freight forwarders, and airlines.
- Inform management of any regulatory or customs changes affecting operations.
- Escalate cargo backlog situations and operational issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure service providers meet training and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Report safety, security, and OHS hazards and incidents through appropriate systems.
- Escalate operational, safety, and service risks to regional management or headquarters.
- Continuously monitor service provider performance to ensure compliance with operational and quality standards.
- Support management during cargo disruptions or emergency situations.

Qualification
- High school, vocational qualification, or diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
- Knowledge of air cargo operations is essential.
- Detailed knowledge of IATA cargo handling standards.
You must have the legal rights to live and work in Malaysia to be considered for this role.
