JOB DESCRIPTION
Category Specialist role is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies and plans for assigned spend categories, in line with business operating plans and objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop critical agreements for logistics, manpower, catering, shipping, and husbandry agency services in each country where the company operates
- Plan, forecast, strategize and develop sourcing strategies for high-spend vendors and categories
- Develop bid packages, conduct bid evaluations, analyze results, and prepare recommendations along with internal approvals for contract award
- Execute post-award contract management and administration
- Lead negotiations for contract extensions, renewals, renegotiations, novation's and related contractual changes
- Serve as a centre of knowledge for the category and share expertise with key stakeholders and SCM team members to enable more effective planning, sourcing, and procurement activities
- Identify alternative suppliers or products to achieve maximum cost savings while ensuring no compromise to business continuity
- Support the execution and management of the Approved Vendor List (AVL) to minimize risk
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or a related field
- CIPS certification will be an added advantage
- 5+ years of experience as a Category Specialist
