The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. This includes financial strategy, capital management, operational finance, and governance across a large-scale manufacturing environment with complex supply chains, cost structures, and capital-intensive operations.
The CFO will drive financial performance, ensure robust internal controls, and support strategic initiatives such as expansion, automation, and potential M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board
- Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modelling, and capital allocation
- Support business growth, including new plant investments and market expansion
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Drive profitability analysis by product line, plant, and geography
- Implement KPI dashboards (e.g., margin, yield, inventory turnover)
- Enhance financial visibility across operations
3. Manufacturing & Operational Finance
- Lead cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Monitor production costs, labour efficiency, and overhead absorption
- Partner with operations on:
- Plant performance improvement
- Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Inventory optimization and working capital management
- Evaluate capex investments (machinery, automation, expansion)
4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships
- Optimize working capital (inventory, receivables, payables)
- Oversee funding strategies, including debt structuring and refinancing
- Manage FX exposure and commodity price risks
5. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Oversee compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS / MFRS)
- Manage audit processes (internal & external)
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks
6. Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify financial and operational risks across the business
- Implement robust internal control systems
- Oversee insurance, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure adherence to tax and statutory obligations
7. M&A, Investments & Corporate Finance
- Lead evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities
- Conduct financial due diligence and valuation analysis
- Structure deals, funding, and post-merger integration
- Manage relationships with investors, banks, and advisors
8. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop the finance team across HQ and plant locations
- Build strong finance business partnering capabilities
- Drive digital transformation (ERP, automation, data analytics)
- Foster a performance-driven and accountable culture
Requirements
Key Requirements- Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred
- MBA is an added advantage
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience
- Proven experience as CFO / Finance Director or senior finance leader
- Strong background in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience managing multi-plant operations
- Exposure to M&A, fundraising, or corporate finance is highly preferred
