The Opportunity:

The Chargeman BO will oversee the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems and 11 kV substation. You will act as the PersonInCharge (PIC) in compliance with ST regulations, handling routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and distribution boards.

This role works closely with TNB, engineers, contractors, and site teams to support inspections, shutdowns, electrical work, and emergency response. You will also maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all activities follow company and regulatory safety standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with approved procedures.
• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and fault troubleshooting.
• Act as the Person-In-Charge (PIC) for the operation and maintenance of the 11 kV electrical substation in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations.
• Design and develop, monitor, operate, and maintain electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, capacitor banks, and distribution boards.
• Prepare basic maintenance records, inspection reports, and logbooks.
• Coordinate with TNB on substation-related matters, inspections, planned shutdowns, and emergency situations.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and site team during electrical work.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company procedures, and relevant legal requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum diploma or equivalent education in electrical engineering.
• Chargeman BO (11kV) Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office tools for maintenance reporting.
• Possess valid Chargeman B0 certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical working experience.
• Familiar with electrical safety practices, PTW/LOTO procedures, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Basic knowledge of electrical drawings (AutoCAD), (SLD), and protection systems.
• Experience in industrial plants or commercial building is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and handle on-site electrical issues.
• Able to communicate in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
