About The Role

Chargeman is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including high-voltage and low-voltage installations, in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) Malaysia regulations. This role ensures the reliability and safety of electrical supply within the facility. Accountable for ensuring smooth operation for overall plant and building maintenance, facilities and Utilities which includes as below
- Low Pressure 3400m3/h
- High Pressure 9000m3/h
- Chiller Plant 14000kW
- High Voltage and Low Voltage Control Room
What You'll Do
- Ensure all electrical operations comply with Electricity Supply Act 1990, Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations, and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994.
- Adhere to permit-to-work (PTW) and lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures when performing maintenance
- To ensure plant electrical supply to equipment, facilities and building is in good condition
- To execute the activities required by the executives and management in their respective department for the plant operations to achieve Centre of Operational Excellence (COE)
- Execute maintenance plan to achieve Mechanical Efficiency targets in terms of machine downtime, quality, hygiene, cost and consumer complaints. SOPs are to be the main references in executing the tasks.
- To perform production machine maintenance including repair, machine part change, overhauling, lubrication and after maintenance cleaning. Maintenance Records are to be executed as per detailed in SOPs. Maintains good record-keeping and retrieval.
- To execute troubleshooting to the plant equipment and machinery for operation based upon specifications, procedures or diagrams. Monitors operation of machinery or equipment to detect malfunctions, the need for adjustments and repair.
- To ensure full compliance to safety procedure, food safety management, hygiene procedures, and 5S execution.
- Execute the implementation of the plant certification & conformance to Integrated Management System (IMS) that consist of KORE, OHSAS 18000, ISO9001, ISO14001, PAS220 and ISO22000.
- Involve in troubleshooting activities & escalating issues arising to superiors timely. Technicians are also responsible of executing routine maintenance and preventive maintenance as per outlined. Identifies causes of breakdowns or faulty operations, diagnoses needed repairs, and tests machinery or equipment to verify that problems were corrected. Takes full ownership of tools supplied to perform day-to-day operation/ production need.
- Involve actively in shift review meetings & department meetings
- Participate actively in problem solving and process improvement initiatives; identify, evaluate, analyze and implement actions required.
- Execute any other engineering & maintenance related activities as when required by superiors.
- Participate in safety training and emergency response drills
What You Bring
- Valid Chargeman Certification (A0/A1/A4/BO terhad) from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission)
- Ideally 2-3 years experience in electrical maintenance within manufacturing, oil & gas, or commercial buildings
- Experience in handling 415V, 11kV/33kV electrical systems (for BO Chargeman)
- Knowledge of HT Room, LV Room, HVAC, refrigerant system in manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of Department of Safety & Health (DOSH) safety and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of KPIs and its driven criteria.
- Knowledge of the principles of scheduled/ preventive maintenance in order to effectively communicate and accept change in a supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, control systems, and wiring regulations
- Ability to read electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals
