Position Overview
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the organizations marketing, communications, and public relations strategies. The role requires proven experience in engaging with government agencies, the media, and technology-driven initiatives, while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and stakeholder management. The CMO will oversee the organizations brand positioning, market expansion, and public image to support long-term growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Provide strategic insights and market intelligence to the CEO and stakeholders for informed decision-making.
- Oversee brand development, digital transformation, and innovation in marketing channels.
- Ensure alignment of marketing strategy with organizational governance and compliance requirements. (JAKIM, JAIJ)
Media & Public Relations
- Manage the organizations public image through effective PR campaigns and media engagement.
- Act as spokesperson when required, representing the organization at events, conferences, and media briefings.
- Develop crisis communication protocols and oversee issue management.
Technology & Digital Marketing
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology for market growth and customer engagement.
- Oversee data-driven marketing, analytics, and customer relationship management systems.
- Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and ethical governance in marketing technology platforms.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration with other departments (Operations, Finance, Legal, etc.).
Qualifications & Experience
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong background in media management, PR, and corporate communications.
- Experience in technology-driven marketing and digital transformation.
- In-depth understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and reporting structures.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
