Job Description

The Chief Partnership Distribution Officer (CPDO) oversees all partnership distribution channels at Manulife Malaysia, including bancassurance, digital sales, and alternative channels, ensuring strategic planning and operational excellence in sales, performance management, and solution delivery. This role fosters sustainable growth through partner relationships, innovative strategies, and building capabilities, while requiring strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders. As part of the Executive Committee, the CPDO is pivotal in shaping and executing distribution strategies, driving business transformation, optimizing capabilities, and managing compliance and risk, all while balancing strategic vision with operational precision.

Strategic Leadership & Growth

Define and execute long-term strategy for partnership distribution channels.

Identify new business opportunities and develop innovative distribution models.

Define and execute long-term strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Commercial Performance

Drive revenue growth through KPIs such as APE, NBP, persistency, and market share.

Ensure profitability and cost efficiency across all partnership channels.

Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

Partner & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, brokers, and key external partners.

Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to deliver sustainable performance.

Engage with regulators and industry bodies to ensure compliance and advocacy.

Operational Excellence

Oversee channel operations, including sales planning, performance management, and middle-office functions.

Implement digital initiatives, analytics, and automation to enhance efficiency.

Ensure governance, risk management, and adherence to compliance standards.

People Leadership

Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the distribution team.

Foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous learning.

Establish succession planning and coach leaders to excel in transformation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree or higher
  • 15+ years of experience in insurance or financial services with increasing responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in partnership distribution, bancassurance, or multi-channel leadership.
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and execution capabilities.
