Role Description The Chinese Tutor will provide online instruction in Mandarin and/or Chinese language curriculum to students following IGCSE, IB, KSSM, and GCE syllabi. This part-time remote role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, explaining grammar and vocabulary, guiding reading and writing practice, and supporting listening and speaking skills. The tutor will assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and feedback, and adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles and goals. Responsibilities also include preparing exam-oriented practice, maintaining clear communication with students and guardians, and keeping lesson records and schedules up to date.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written), with the ability to explain grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation clearly.
• Experience teaching or tutoring Chinese, preferably aligned with IGCSE, IB, KSSM, or GCE curricula.
• Ability to design structured lesson plans, learning materials, and exam practice tailored to different levels.
• Effective online teaching skills, including familiarity with virtual classroom tools, video platforms, and digital resources.
• Excellent communication skills, patience, and a student-centered approach to teaching diverse age groups and backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple students, schedules, and progress tracking.
• Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred; relevant teaching certifications are an advantage.
• Prior experience with international school systems or standardized examinations is beneficial.
